The Marcelo Fernan Bridge is one of the infrastructures in Cebu that serves as proof of the progress in the province. This bridge is an extra dozed cable stayed bridge was formally opened in August 1999. With its length of about 1237 meters with 4058.40 feet and has a center span of 185 meters.
The bridge is connecting the island of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City part of Cebu island that spans transversely in the Mactan Channel. This bridge’s purpose is to lessen the heavy traffic that flows in the first bridge built in the province.
Japanese government facilitated this project, and now tagged as one of the widest and longest in length in the whole Philippines. These also stands as one of the beautiful places to visit because there is a park located underneath the bridge.
